Having the total control in the classrom is a challenge that no everyone can beat.
It is very difficult for us, as prospective teachers to have tools for any case in the classroom. I think having solutions and plans to face difficult situations and keep the discipline in the classroom is part of the experience as a teacher. You can study about this issue, but it's not the same as living it. If you think about something in our mind we can do the most splendid things but when we face it, there are many facts that are involved in our response to those situations.
As I have said before, I truly believe in the power of closeness with our students, if students feel comfortable and important for you, they will behave in a very good way in order not to disappoint you. A good relation with our students can create an amazing athmosphere in the classroom, and students can do their best.
This is so important because young people feel very unmotivated due to the fact that nobody pay attention to them, and they need to talk and to be listened, and to feel that someone is takning care of them and that person has expectations about his or her life.
We can do this, we have to do this. And always, when something bad happens in the classroom we have to talk and say to our students that the thing that just happened makes me feel sad or disappointed, because I respect you and I hope and I want you respect me too.
I agree absolutely!!
